Webinar Description: Individuals with Aphasia can successfully augment their communication with high tech systems. Individuals with Aphasia are motivated to communicate with others, especially in the types of interactions that are important to them. This presentation will identify some of the potential barriers individuals with Aphasia face when using high tech AAC systems. Ideas for improving outcomes for integration of high tech AAC systems into participation-based interactions and activities will be discussed. 

Webinar Objectives: Participants will be able to:

1. Identify 3 potential barriers people with aphasia who use high tech AAC systems may encounter.

2. Learn 1 new approach or strategy they can incorporate into their practice to support use of AAC for purposes of engagement when working with individuals with aphasia.

3. Recognize microaggressions that individuals with Aphasia using AAC can experience.
