Accessible Town Hall Meetings

Town Hall Meetings

The following guidelines were developed by NAACA to promote accessibility at Town Hall Meetings.

  • The moderator can explain how to signal that participants want to communicate and remind participants to refrain from talking or relaying messages when someone else is communicating.
  • The moderator can assign “runners” with microphones to identify a speaker by raising their hand. When called upon by moderator, the runner holds the mobile mic for a speaker, beside a device speaker, or reads aloud a message generated by an AAC user on a display
