USSAAC Presents: Innovations of the Webinars
15-Jan-2016
Guest post by Lateef H. McLeod, President, USSAAC
In 2015, the inaugural year of our webinar series, the USSAAC membership committee organized five successful webinars that were much appreciated by our membership. All received rave reviews. These webinars, presented with the support of ISAAC and archived on this website, feature respected speakers and AAC experts providing valued information. Not only have our members found these thought-provoking sessions helpful in their careers, but they can earn continuing education credits from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CEUs).
With such topics as “A New Day Dawns for Medicare SGD Coverage: What Do SLPs, Medicare Beneficiaries, and Families Need to Know?” and “Social Justice: Accessibility Includes Communication”, the audience for our webinars gained knowledge to uplift the AAC community. By initiating this vital service we have been able to attract more members to the USSAAC organization.
Our webinar series has become an integral part of USSAAC, and I am delighted to see that it has been a success. Please join us in 2016! Stay tuned for announcements on social media of our next webinar topic, date, and time.
