A Reality TV Journey

The ISAAC 2018 AAC Camp is going to be all about reality – Reality TV! Let’s Get Real! AAC Camp will run on the 21st and 22nd of July at the fully accessible Currumbin Community Special School on the Gold Coast.

Different Reality TV themed activities will happen each day of the camp program. Reality Camp activities will include:

  • The Amazing AAC Race
  • AAC Fear Factor
  • Great Australian Bake Off AAC Style
  • Face Off:  Pirate Edition
  • Nature Reality (with Awesome Australian Creatures)
  • Google Box
  • Making Wombat Stew!

Activities will be planned appropriately for the age groups attending and Nature Reality will include hands-on contact with some Australian Animals.

The Real Details

Each day begins at 9:30 am and finishes at 5:00 pm with a 90-minute lunch break. Lunch is not provided at camp – so participants will need to bring their own.  Participants will be assigned to an appropriate group based on numbers and age group. All sessions are subject to minimum registration numbers, at the sole discretion of ISAAC International.

On Saturday, camp will begin at 9:30 am and finish at 5:00.  On Sunday, camp will begin at 9:00am and finish at 4:30. Each day there will be a 90-minute lunch break and a break for morning and afternoon tea. Food is not provided at camp – so participants will need to bring their own.

Each camper under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in order to participate in Let’s Get Real! AAC Camp activities. All campers under 18 years of age will be required to have completed activity waivers submitted to ISAAC no later than June 30th, 2018.

Camp registration includes one person who uses AAC and one support crew. If more than one support person would like to attend, you can purchase additional tickets per person. Please contact conference2018@isaac-online.org to arrange this.

The Real Venue

The Real Action will be happening at Currumbin Community Special School on the Gold Coast. The school is completely accessible and there will be access to accessible bathrooms. Kitchen / eating space will be  available for lunch preparation.
