Interpreted Call for Papers – Standard Mandarin Chinese (PDF, 530 kB)

We are excited to announce that limited translation support for Standard Chinese (Standard Mandarin) will be provided at ISAAC Conference 2018. Authors are now invited to make submissions for poster or platform presentations in Chinese. The extended closing date for interpreted paper submissions is November 30^th, 2017.

Our conference theme, AACcess All Areas, reflects ISAAC’s common goal for equal access to all areas of life by people who use AAC. For the first time, the special focus of the ISAAC Conference is the Asia-Pacific Region. We are excited to be encouraging the participation from this part of the world by holding the conference at the Gold Coast, Australia.

In Australia, the AAC community is proud to be a trailblazer in Communication Access. We look forward to hearing how people around the globe are addressing access issues across the domains such as Emerging Technologies, Language and Literacy, Education, Employment, Diversity, Justice, Social Media, Developing Nations, Relationships, Culture and Community.

Also for the first time, a Research Seminar Stream will be held as part of the main conference instead of during the two days following the conference. We hope this will make it easier for researchers to attend and present their innovative research themes, and also make research more accessible to all conference attendees.

Please note that the Call for Research Seminar Stream proposals is included in the main Call for Papers.

The Call for Papers online portal opened on June 26 and closed on October 16, 2017. The Program Committee will make final decisions on allocating all accepted papers to streams and content focus areas as well as the final format of the presentations (i.e., platform presentation, poster, interactive workshop, research seminar).

Applicants will be notified about the acceptance/rejection of their submission by February 23, 2018.

Format and schedule of accepted papers will be communicated to successful presenters by April 30, 2018.
