We are delighted to invite children and young people between 8 and 30 years old who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), as well as their siblings and friends, to join us for an exciting experience in the beautiful country of Mexico.

At our camp, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy fun and educational activities, while learning about the rich Mayan culture and other Mexican traditions. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where all participants can feel comfortable and safe while having fun and learning.

Our programs are designed to help children and young people practice their communication skills and promote their communicative independence. Our programs include games, contests, crafts, and recreational activities in which participants can learn and enjoy the cultural richness of Mexico.

We are proud to offer an enriching experience for children and young people with AAC, their siblings, and friends. We look forward to welcoming you and your families to our ISAAC Conference CAA Camp in Mexico!

If you have not yet registered for the conference, you can register for AAC camp when you register for the conference

If you have already registered for the conference and want to view your purchases or add any extra conference related purchases, such as AAC camp, please access your existing registration on the Conference Registration platform. You’ll find instructions on how to do that in your registration confirmation.

Estamos encantados de invitar a niños entre 8 y 30 años que usan Comunicación Aumentativa y Alternativa (CAA), así como a sus hermanos y amigos, a unirse a nosotros para una emocionante experiencia en el hermoso país de México.

En nuestro campamento, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de disfrutar de actividades divertidas y educativas, mientras aprenden sobre la rica cultura maya y otras tradiciones mexicanas. Nuestro objetivo es crear un ambiente inclusivo donde todos los participantes puedan sentirse cómodos y seguros mientras se divierten y aprenden.

Las actividades están diseñadas para ayudar a los niños y jóvenes a practicar sus habilidades de comunicación y fomentar su independencia comunicativa.

El programa incluye juegos, concursos,  manualidades y actividades recreativas en las  que los participantes podrán aprender y disfrutar de la riqueza cultural de México.

Date la oportunidad de vivir esta experiencia de tradiciones, magia y fiesta en una locación 100% accesible en las instalaciones del CRIT Teletón de Quintana Roo.

Si ya estás inscrito en el congreso y quieres ver tus compras o agregar alguna compra adicional relacionada al congreso, como el campamento CAA, puedes acceder a tu inscripción existente en la plataforma de inscripción. Ahí encontrarás las instrucciones de cómo hacerlo en tu confirmación de inscripción.

Nadia Browning,  recognized therapist with a great trajectory in the field of AAC – Graduate in Occupational Therapy from the Sociedade Unificada de Ensino Superior Augusto Motta, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. – M.Sc. Health Sciences, School of Occupational Therapy, The University of Western Ontario, London, Canada – Occupational Therapist with the Assistive Device Resource Services at ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development (Ontario) –

Nadia Browning, reconocida terapeuta con una gran trayectoria dentro del campo de la CAA.Graduada in Occupational Therapy from the Sociedade Unificada de Ensino Superior Augusto Motta, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil M.Sc. Health Sciences, School of Occupational Therapy, The University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.Trabaja en Occupational Therapist with the Assistive Device Resource Services at ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development (Ontario).

Rodrigo Hermoso, Graduate in clinical psychology from Universidad de las Américas and master in Existential Analysis.  For over 6 years, he has coordinated the Psychology area and offered psychological support to people who use AAC at CATIC, Centro de Apoyo Tecnológico para la Comunicación y el Aprendizaje in Mexico City. He has also collaborated in AAC camps and summer courses at CATIC.

Rodrigo Hermoso, Licenciado en Psicología clínica egresado de la Universidad de las Américas, y máster en Análisis Existencial. Más de 6 años coordinando el área de psicología y ofreciendo apoyo psicológico a personas que usan Comunicación Aumentativa y Alternativa en CATIC, Centro de Apoyo Tecnológico para la Comunicación y el Aprendizaje en la Ciudad de México. Ha colaborado en los campamentos de CAA y cursos de verano de CATIC.

 

Please note:  AAC Camp attendees who are under the age of 18 must at all times have adult supervision. In order to provide parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) the opportunity to attend Pre-Conference Workshops, ISAAC will be making available camp staff supervision at a 1:8 ratio for the entirety of the AAC Camp experience. Camp activities will require the provision of a signed waiver(s) by the participant (18 and older) / parent(s) or legal guardian(s) (under 18) as a precondition for participation, which will include acceptance of this staffing ratio. Parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) who decline to accept the provided staffing ratio will be required to attend with their child at all times during the AAC Camp.
